The Little Book of Skin Care: Korean Beauty Secrets for Healthy, Glowing Skin by Charlotte Cho
The Little Book of Skin Care: Korean Beauty Secrets for Healthy, Glowing Skin by Charlotte Cho.
Meet the book that changed my life! Well, at least the way of thinking about skin care. After finishing this book I could not believe I didn't see this before. We are so focused on covering our imperfections that we forget we should focus on the way we take care of our skin. This book made me realize that if I will spend as much time taking care of my skin as I spend on putting my makeup I can get healthy and naturally beautiful skin!
I've got this Polish Edition (which I personally think is the cutest!) for my birthday, and I couldn't wish for better gift :)
There is a lot of very useful information! It is definitely worth to buy this book and keep on your bookshelf. I had to keep in my bathroom at the beginning, to follow all the steps, always got something wrong or missed a step ;) At the beginning it can be a bit confusing or too much but once you started you won't want to stop, believe me!
I've been following this routine since few weeks now, my skin looks better and most importantly I feel much better with my skin. Of course nothing happens overnight. If you want to see effects in anything you do you have to be systematic and patient. Also be aware that not all of the cosmetics from my list or Charlotte's list will fit you and you might not like some of them, it will take time to find 'the one' 😉
10 steps might sounds like a lot and you might think it will take ages, but that's not true! Everyday morning and night routine takes me only 10 minutes! I always think about it as a 'me time' and use it relax - always listen to relaxing music while my morning or night routine, read a book while having sheet mask on.
Charlotte goes through all the steps explaining each step, giving examples of her favorite products - which is really helpful especially at the beginning when you have no idea where to start.

8. EYE CREAM - ETUDE HOUSE Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream
9. MOISTURIZER - still finishing CLINIQUE Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+
10. SUN PROTECTION - MISSHA Soft Finish Sun Milk SPF50+
Charlotte explains step by step how to use sheet masks, making the whole process so easy.
First you wash your face and use a toner. Take the sheet mask out of the package, it will be really moist with essence, you can squeeze it gently and use the additional moist on your neck and chest. Fold out the mask and apply evenly on your face. RELAX! Keep for 20-30 minutes not more. Take the mask off, gently pat to promote absorption of remaining essence. DONE!
There is a whole chapter about sun protection, why is it so important, how does it impact our skin, how to choose good sunscreen etc. I will write separate post about it but for now long story short: NEVER leave your house without sunscreen on! Even when you think it's cloudy so you don't really have to use it, it will take only 1 minute and your skin will be grateful! You can google: Bill McElligot and see pictures of his face, showing how sun effects our skin, I was shocked!
Most important things to remember: big sunglasses, big hat and sunscreen every few hours are you friends!
